Gossamer Gold Strand Necklace
The focal point of this "Y" necklace is the fine silver pointed oval pendant- originally clay, which was textured with lace, shaped, and baked in a kiln for two hours. The microscopic silver particles then melded together to become the final piece. A long single gold chain is attached to the base of the pendant, coated in droplets of gemstones.
Handcrafted tension "S" clasp closure (photo is to display the design and does not necessarily reflect the metal type).
Metal: Sterling silver and 14k gold filled
Gemstones: Blue topaz, iolite, green amethyst, citrine, and whisky topaz
Dimensions: Silver pendant is about .5" long with chain about 2". Total length of necklace is 16".
ABOUT 14k GOLD FILLED:
*Gold filled is the next level and is an amazing, quality alternative to solid gold
*Gold plating is the lower level and these items tend to tarnish and can often times turn the skin green. Gold filled is an actual layer of gold-pressure bonded to another metal.
*If you can wear gold jewelry without skin sensitivity, you can most likely wear gold filled!
*Many owners find that they never have to clean gold-filled items at all. If it's necessary, clean gold-filled using mild soap and water. Hot weather and water will not damage the material
*During the mid to late Victorian period, gold filled jewelry was very common and was manufactured in large numbers.
